May 2024:
The Historical Society of Mamelodi convened today to discuss the pros and cons of self-publishing versus traditional publishing through a media company. The attendees included Mr. Linkie Tsiane, Mr. Zuko Gqadavama, Ms. Michelle Mbatsane, Rev. Chris Nkomo, Mr. Obed Mahlangu, Mr. Lerumo Tshenye, and Mr. Tokollo Hlagala. When deciding between self-publishing and traditional publishing, it is important to consider one’s objectives and available resources. Additionally, we proposed the idea of creating a book that chronicles the years of Mamelodi’s existence, authored by individuals selected from the community to share their experiences about Mamelodi. This initiative has helped establish a network to further support this project.
